A scenic area in Manning Provincial Park famous for wild Pacific rhododendrons
Rhododendron Flats is a popular destination within Manning Provincial Park, located along the Skagit Valley trail system. The area is renowned for its spectacular displays of wild Pacific rhododendrons (Rhododendron macrophyllum), which bloom in mid-June to early July.
The rhododendrons here represent an isolated northern population of the species, which is more commonly found further south along the Pacific coast. Interpretive signs explain the unique ecology of these plants and their relationship with the forest ecosystem.
